Rose Colored Glasses

Sometimes seeing clearly means taking everything off.

What are you doing the rest of your life?

The question echoes in Diandra Rossi’s head during a first-class flight from New York to Florida, a hastily packed bag at her feet and her marriage hanging in the balance.

It is mid-January—Manhattan is frozen, her fashion career is demanding, and the truth her husband, Nico, revealed that morning has shattered everything she thought she knew.

By twenty-nine, Diandra believed she had it all. A charismatic Brooklyn soulmate met on a blind date. A designer wedding gown. A honeymoon in Italy. Her own clothing line—and a newly opened flagship store in New York City. But beneath the glamour lie family obligations, hidden financial entanglements, and criminal interference threatening to unravel both her dreams and her marriage.

As Diandra escapes to Florida, seeking clarity, warmth, and the comfort of her parents, she is forced to confront what she has been avoiding. Her marriage is being tested. Her career is in jeopardy. And Nico’s revelations may alter her future in ways she never imagined—including the possibility that motherhood may slip out of reach.

Waiting in the land of sunshine and second chances, Diandra wonders if love can survive the truth. Will Nico follow her? Can they rebuild what was broken—or is she about to leave her entire world behind in a cloud of pink dust?

Spiraled

She pioneered the entry for women race car drivers. Dana Danali knew she wanted to be a driver since she first got in the driver's seat of the '66 white convertible Mustang with red pinstripes to match the red leather interior that her uncle let her test drive off the lot of his car dealership just before her 16th birthday. After pleading with her father for weeks…he finally gave in and allowed her to buy the car with her $1500 of babysitting money, which she had been saving for a car.

Danali put herself through college in Florida to be closer to the top racing schools. By the time she graduated, she had sponsors who pushed her to strive to be the first woman to enter the F1 circuit with her signature pink car. Barely 20, she had racked up some significant wins. The biggest win was when she met Rocco Santori at her first race in Italy.

Their relationship was like a race that took them all over the globe. Danali was thrown into the world she always dreamed of by the time she reached 30, jet-setting around the world. He proposed a year after they met, insisting they make a home in Tuscany on his family’s vineyard. Their US base was an apartment in New York with a Hamptons beach house. The wedding was an over-the-top destination in Sicily with 300 guests a year later.

Rocco supported her racing career for almost ten years until he failed to show up for her debut in Monte Carlo.

40 Dozen Roses

Her big 40 is just a few days away, Dena Rosa is finally in a place that feels like home. or so it seems...the charming Hallmark town of Winter Parc embraced all 5’ of her feisty and determined will. Thrust into the limelight, she becomes a big fish in a little pond in one short year. The one thing missing was that special someone to share it with and complete her new world...and then one day Winter Parc’s most eligible bachelor walked through the door of her Parc Place boutique.

Teddy Morehouse was Winter Parc’s bad boy, a former race car driver with a great head of wavy hair, always impeccably dressed, and the allure of a Clark Gable including… the attitude. Their attraction was magnetic...Dena was enamored with everything about him, from his killer smile to his piercing blue eyes. His insatiable smell made you want to… Teddy was impressed by her spunk and sexy petite look. A set up dinner date arranged by Dena’s friend Larissa led to a fairytale love affair, overcoming their 14-year age difference...his estranged wife, Natalie who would not let him go and his namesake daughter Teddie and all her antics.

She was so looking forward to the weekend and sharing her milestone birthday with family and friends until the call came in that it was rainy roses in the boutique, and she needed to get there pronto.

The fairytale life Dena Rosa had fallen into for the better part of 5 years starts to unravel, the life that Dena thought was her’s was changing before she could realize what was happening. She was a runaway train…Dena was warned about taking on Winter Parc’s most reckless gentleman…little did she know the length of cold and callousness his thorns could unleash.

This was her wakeup call… She was caught up in a relationship that had just thrown her a major curveball and truly didn’t know which way to turn or how she could have been so blind. Could she allow Teddy back after he all that he put her through.

8 Days to Die

Did you ever wonder what goes through the mind of someone after a debilitating stroke?  No one expected she would make it through the night, not even the priest that administered last rights.

Ariana Reece’s life was coined “She was never satisfied “by her oldest daughter Danella.  She was a stunning woman even into her later years. Photogenic until the end, the peacefulness was so evident as she was waiting to die. But why did it take her 8 days? The priest had his theories, close friends and relatives had theirs. It was the introduction to Fathers protegee that Danella was pushed to try and understand those 8 days and fell in love with the soon to be Deacon Gabrielle.

Ariana’s looks were unlike her three sisters, from her facial structure to her stunning figure and hairstyle ala Ava Gardner.  Everyone said she was the milkman’s daughter. She always thought the grass was greener and, in her hometown, there was a lot of green grass. She could not wait to get out of life on a farm, milking cows and feeding pigs was soon to be a distant memory. She craved the modern conveniences a big city could offer, including the allure and its glamour. Not soon after throwing her cap in the air after graduating from high school, she packed her belongings and headed north on the Greyhound bus destined for Harbor Springs. Searching for the ultimate dream, an exciting job and a handsome husband. Her sister’s thought she had lost her mind…gone mad to just get on a bus destined for the unknown and all alone. Little did they know the power of her will and determination.

She injected Danella with that same fierce spirit to find a career that she would not need a man or be dependent on a husband…and she could do or have anything she wanted…but why?

It was overwhelming to get her lifepath back on some course that would bring a sense of purpose. She had just returned to south Florida after walking away from her world and selling her business. Pearls

With a name like Dalia Diamond, she always thought she should have been a Tiffany model for diamonds! A challenging year after the crash of the housing market, Dalia needs a job. She was the queen of the most elusive and exclusive jewelry establishment in Palm Shores… until the owner was indicted for embezzling. Needing a change of scenery, she heads to NYC and perhaps with some luck, landing a job at the ultimate jewelry store in the world.

It's fall and NYC is bustling with the elegance she missed living in Florida. Men in suits and cashmere coats, women in the ubiquitous LBD, pearls and fur. Making her way to 5th Avenue from the fabulous Phillip Stark Royalton Hotel, she has decided to take herself into Tiffany’s with the hope that the perfect dream job will be waiting for her. The store is busy for Tuesday at 4, a security man greets her at the door. She decided to take it all in slow as she made her way to the top floor of Human Resources. Dalia stops on the estate jewelry floor and is in awe of the pearl and diamond necklace behind the glass. Turning to continue her way around the floor she is stopped by a very tall sexy, handsome man who could not help but complement her classic look and jewelry. Hello, I am Michael, the CEO. Chatting for thirty minutes and committing to dinner with him she then whisked off to HR for possibly the opportunity of a lifetime.

59

Her friends and family had heard her mantra over and over for years…I came in 59 and I shall go out with dignity at 59. Davina Donavan was soon to be 59 in less than one short year. She did not want to get old, ugly or unhealthy. Never wanting a surprise birthday party all her life, she agreed to one at 59, should her family deem it. Her 58 years had been amazing, she still had the good looks she was born with, her spunky personality and a smile that was contagious. Always knowing that she wanted to design shoes. In 10 short years she achieved a renowned career and had her namesake worldwide. A husband that she was introduced to at a dinner party so many years ago that she still adored, 6 beautiful children and 3 precious grandchildren. Why would she still entertain that voice in her head after all these years and all that she accomplished, let alone all the lives she touched with her magical persona.

It was that fateful day finding out that she had the big C that sent her into a tailspin…reality check! This was her perfect way out, she first thought. Keeping the diagnosis a secret for over a month from everyone, from her husband and children to her best friend Maria. She thought she could hide her slowdown, her paleness and her irritability. It was only after landing at Kennedy airport after a 3-day shoe show in Milan, feeling like she could die at any moment that she broke down. When the taxi dropped her off at home, she made the call and let her family in on the secret she had carried around for the last month.

Could they convince her to take the steps she needed for treatment, or would she stick to her mantra?
